Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures;
- Initiate and organize OHS training of faculty, staff and students;
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues of non-conformity;
- Oversee installations, maintenance and waste management of laboratory facilities and waste processing (collection, storage, treatment and disposal);
- Record and investigate safety related incidents to determine causes and carry out improvements;
- Practical knowhow of technical procurement matters;
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees’ safety;
- Coordinate with procurement, F&E and other relevant LUMS department;
- Other tasks assigned by the Dean;

Qualification:
Bachelors/Masters in science or engineering with relevant specialization. Professional certifications in occupational health and safety.

- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Working knowledge of safety management information system
- Safety measures, lab equipment procurement and coordination, communication both written and verbal
